Priority Areas

Species
Biodiversity data available in India are scattered and unorganized specially when we think about spatial information. Most of the currently available data/information are not embedded with spatial or location information in terms of specific geographic locations.
Environmental Parameters
The impact of climate change on biodiversity is being realized, we are not in a state to predict and interpret the distribution and population of the biotic elements with data available in the current formats.
Forest Cover
EIC as it mainly deals with organized storage of biodiversity data will be long term project and requires one or two data entry operators in its initial phase. Understanding of data biological data and various format such as ASCII, CSV (Text data), GeoTiff etc. are desirables.
